Cemetery Name
- Gary Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the southwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active cemetery from Cameron, take State Hwy 36 about 3.5-miles to the “Y” where US Hwy 77 turns to the right. Continue on US Hwy 77 about 16-miles to US Hwy 79. Proceed about 9-miles on US Hwy 77 to just before the Forest Grove Community. Turn into the egress and gate is on the right.

- Garza Family Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the southwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active cemetery from Rockdale, take US Hwy 79 about 3-miles to CR 306 and turn right. Go about 1.5-miles on CR 306 and the sign for the Garza Cemetery and Hickory Grove Cemetery will come into view on the right side of the road. About one-quarter of a mile on a hill is the Garza Family home. The cemetery is about one-half mile behind the house in a pasture. Permission should be secured from the family to enter the cemetery. The Hickory Grove Cemetery is on the right in the bushes and tress just before you reach the Garza Family Cemetery.

- Gause City Cemetery - List of Burials - This cemetery is located in the southeast quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active cemetery from Cameron, take State Hwy 36 south 12-miles to Milano and take US Hwy 79 about 10-miles to Gause. Go to North Main and turn left and then go to E. Walnut St turn right and the entrance will be slightly to the left.

- Gause Family-Armstrong Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the southeast quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active cemetery on private property you need permission. It is located in the southeastern corner of the town of Gause and is enclosed by a cyclone fence.

- Gelner Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the northwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this inactive one grave cemetery from Cameron, take State Hwy 36 about 5-miles west and turn left. Go about 3-miles and then turn right. A fence can be seen about 100-yards to the left.

- Gest Family Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the southwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active cemetery from Rockdale, take US Hwy 79 about 7-miles to the Gay Hill Community. The cemetery is on private property and you will need permission form Luke Gest to enter.

- Gilliland Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the southwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this inactive cemetery from Cameron, take Crocket St. from State Hwy 36 to FM 1600 to FM 487, continue on FM 1600 about 2.5-miles further until it becomes CR 249 and you will see a plaque. There is a possibility there is a second or lost Gilleland Family Cemetery on Gilleland Creek.

- Hernando Gonzales La Familia Cemetery (Cemeterio) - This cemetery is located in the near northwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active cemetery from Cameron, take State Hwy 36 about 6-mile to Pettibone and turn left onto FM 486, passing the junction with CR 487, for 8-miles and the crypt is about 150-ywards north on the right just above the creek bed in the brush. The cemetery is to the left of the creek. The cemetery is on private property and permission is needed from Billie Park to enter.

- Goodwill Baptist Cemetery -
This cemetery is located in the southwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active black cemetery from Milano, if coming from the junction of State Hwy 36 and US Hwy 79, go east and turn left onto 2nd St. and continue to Avenue A and turn right. The cemetery is behind the church on a slope.

- Graham-McQueen Cemetery (formerly H. H. Coffield Ranch Cemetery) - This cemetery is located in the northwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this inactive cemetery from Davilla, take CR 1915 about 6-miles. The road to the right, which is almost in front of the Friendship Methodist Church, has a sign over the gate and its headquarters are about one-half mile east. Permission must be obtained to enter this private property. This cemetery is located on the land once owned by H. H. Coffield

- Grantham-Miles Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the northwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this abandoned cemetery from Cameron, take State Hwy 36 about 6-miles to Pettibone and at FM 486 turn left and go about 6-miles. The cemetery is about 75-years to the southwest of a dirt tank in a pasture and about 1.5-miles from the Felton Cemetery. The cemetery is enclosed by a cyclone fence; however, there are also graves outside the fenced area.

- Graves Cemetery (exact site unknown - lost cemetery) - This cemetery may have been located in the northwest quadrant of Milam Co. The exact location of this abandoned black cemetery is unknown. There was once a Graves Chapel Negro Baptist Church located in a shady grove of oak trees in Sharp this could have been the location of the cemetery. The names attributed to this cemetery were found in the Milam County Death Records.

- Griffin Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the northwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this inactive and nearly abandoned cemetery from Rogers, take State Hwy 36 and turn onto FM 437. Go about 7-miles to almost the intersection of CR 2268. On the right is a gate, turn onto the dirt road and continue to a second gate, homes and barns. The cemetery is about 200-yards distance from the road. You will need to ask permission to enter this cemetery located on private land.

- Griffins Chapel Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the southeast quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active black cemetery from Cameron, take State Hwy 36 about 10-miles to CR 336 and turn right. Go about 2.3-miles to the Griffins Chapel Community. When the road turns to the right, after the last houses, go about one-half mile to CR 234 and turn right. There is a sign to the cemetery that directs visitors to turn left. Shortly a locked gate will appear to the left. Then drive about 1-mile along a fence to the cemetery. You can stop and ask just about anyone who is home for a key to the cemetery gate.

- Hairston Family Cemetery (exact site unknown - lost cemetery) - There is no information on this family cemetery except for burial location found in obituaries.

- Hall or Ad Hall Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the northwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this inactive cemetery from Cameron, take State Hwy 36 about 6-miles to Pettibone. At FM 486 take a left and cross the railroad tracks and go about 1-mile. FM 486 will curve sharply to the left, but continue straight onto CR 205, a gravel road. Go about one-quarter mile and an open pasture will appear on the left. The gap gate is blocked so you will need to park your vehicle and walk about 200-yards to the cemetery located near several cedar trees. Post Oak Springs or Tappan Springs is located nearby and the old Cameron-Belton Road passed through here.

- C. A. Hamblen Cemetery (exact site unknown - lost cemetery) - This cemetery was located in the northwest quadrant of Milam Co. This cemetery no longer exists. The last effort to locate the cemetery resulted in finding only a gravel pit with no trace of the gravemarkers. The cemetery was located 3-miles southwest of San Gabriel and Davilla in a pasture on the north side of the road.

- John W. Hamblen Cemetery - This cemetery is located on the line between the northwest and southwest quadrants of Milam Co. near San Gabriel. To get to this abandoned cemetery from Cameron, take State Hwy 36 northwest about 6-miles to Pettibone and at FM 486, turn left. Continue of FM 486 to FM 3061 and turn left. Go to FM 1331 and turn right and go about 2.25-miles. A large white, 2-story plantation-type home will appear on the right side of the road. Turn into the driveway and request permission to enter the premises. From the home, drive north towards the river about 1.5-miles and turn left and go about one-half mile down a row of tress and then the cemetery can be seen. There are gravemarkers inside and outside the wrought iron fence. Cattle roam the area freely and have damage a considerable number of gravemarkers.

- Hamilton Chapel Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the southwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this semi-active cemetery from Rockdale, take FM 487 south about 2.5-miles to 2116 and turn right. Go about 1-mile and when the top of a small hill is reached, turn right onto a narrow gravel road and go about 300-yards to the cemetery.

- Hanged Man's Cemetery - There is no cemetery here nor is the name of the horse thief known. The general area is north of Milano in the southeast quadrant of Milam Co. To get there from Milano, take US Hwy 79 about one-half mile to CR 339 and turn left. Go about 3.1-miles to a gulley and a large tree in the pasture to the left. B. L. DuBoise related that in the 1880s a man stole several horses while in Arkansas and brought them to Texas. A group of men, maybe a posse, tracked the thief to this spot where the Old Spanish Trail connected with this trail. The thief was camped in the gulley and the posse strung him up on the spot and repossessed the horses.

- Harlin (Harlan) Chapel Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the northeast quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active black cemetery from Cameron, take US Hwy 77 north about 5-miles to FM 485 and turn right. Go about 6-miles to FM 979 and turn left. Go about 3.5-miles, pass the Little River Baptist Church & Cemetery and continue about 2-miles to CR 266 and turn right. At the church turn left and go about one-half mile on a grassy road to the cemetery.

- Harmony Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the southwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active cemetery from Rockdale, take FM 908 south about 2.5-miles to CR 318 and turn left. Go about 1-mile to CR 320 and turn right. The cemetery is about 1.5-miles on the right just after a curve. The cemetery is near the New Salem Cemetery.

- Harrell Cemetery - List of Burials & Photographs - Inventory of Burials - This cemetery is located in the northeast quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this abandoned cemetery from Cameron, take US Hwy 77 north about 5-miles to FM 485 and turn right. Go about 8-miles to Maysfield and turn left at CR 249. Go about 1.3-miles north to CR 250 L and turn right. The iron fence around the cemetery will come into view.

- F. A. Hernandez Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the southwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active cemetery in Cameron, take Crocket St. southwest from State Hwy 36 to FM 1600 and turn left, cross the railroad tracks, pass Ledbetter Park, and take the first gravel road to the left that passes by the Cameron Rest Cemetery. The Hernandez Cemetery is located behind the Cameron Rest Cemetery.

- Herndon Cemetery (exact site unknown - lost cemetery) - This cemetery is located in the northeast quadrant of Milam Co. George Dodd related that at one time there are 20 to 50 sharecroppers buried on Mr. Herndon’s property. Mr. Dodd gave these directions to the now vanished without a trace cemetery: From the Ben Arnold community, take US Hwy 77 and turn right onto FM 1444 and then left on FM 1445. At CR 274 (or CR 174, the road numbers seem to changed), turn right and go about 1.5-miles to Jones Prairie. At Black Store (CR 275?) turn left and then go about one-half mile and turn left onto CR 173 (CR 273?). Mr. Dodd’s home is on CR 279 and is more or less one-half mile just past a curve in the left and about another one-half mile further is an elm grove in a field on the Gibson Farm. The only evidence of the burials is Easter Lilies and Lilies of the Valley planted. There use to be little crosses and wagon axels to mark the graves.

- Hickory Grove Cemetery -
This cemetery is located in the southwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this inactive and abandoned cemetery from Rockdale, take US Hwy 79 west towards Thorndale and go about 5.5-miles to CR 306 L and turn right. Go about 1.5-miles and a sign will appear for the Garza Family and the Hickory Grove Cemeteries. The cemetery is about one-half mile behind the Garza home. Permission should be secured from the family to enter their pasture. There are a number of broke gravemarkers.

- Hilge Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the northeast quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this abandoned cemetery from Cameron, take US Hwy 77 north about 5-miles to FM 485 and turn right. Go about 6-miles to FM 979 and turn left. Go about 3.5-miles pass the Little River Baptist Church & Cemetery and go another 3.5-miles and turn right onto CR 258. Go past String Prairie Cemetery and about 1-mile will appear a gate on the right. The cemetery is about 900 to 1,000-yards from the road by a mesquite tree. There is no fence.

- Hirt-Braun Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the southwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this inactive cemetery from Rockdale, take US Hwy 79 west towards Thorndale about 5.5-miles to CR 306 L and turn right. Go about 2-miles, passing the sign for Hickory Grove and Garza and about one-quarter mile a home and building will come into view. There is a gate just prior to those buildings, turn right and drive to cemetery.

- Hobson Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the northeast quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this inactive cemetery from the Courthouse in Cameron, take Fannin St. to 22nd St. and turn right and continue when the street becomes CR 227, pass the new junior high and elementary schools, pass the country club on the right and cross the bridge of Little River and at the “T” turn left onto CR 229 and continue to the locked gate. The cemetery is on private property and you need permission from Mrs. Barron, who is a descendant of John Hobson, to enter the property and obtain the key to the gate.

- Holtzclaw Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the northwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this inactive cemetery from Cameron, take State Hwy 36 to FM 1600 and turn left, cross over the railroad tracks and continue to FM 487. About one-half mile west of the intersection, turn onto a wooded land to the southwest and drive about one-half mile. There is no road to the cemetery; you will need to walk in. There is no fence around the cemetery and cattle freely roam the area and have damage a considerable number of gravemarkers.

- Hope Lutheran Memorial Park Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the northwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active cemetery from Cameron, take State Hwy 36 about 9-miles to Buckholts and continue several blocks to the sign for the cemetery. Turn right onto Cemetery Road and about 1-mile and the cemetery is at the end of this road on a hill.

- Dick Hurt Cemetery a/k/a Hurt-Graham Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the southeast quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this semi-active cemetery from Cameron, take State Hwy 36 about 12-miles to Milano and at US Hwy 79 take a left and then a right to continue on State Hwy 36. Go about 4.5-miles to CR 328 and turn right and then make an almost immediate right onto a dirt lane. Do not make the mistake and continue on CR 328, that road will only take you to the Sand Grove Cemetery. After you make the immediate right onto the dirt lane, follow it about 75-yards to the cemetery.

- International Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the southwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active cemetery located within the City of Rockdale, take North Main St. and the cemetery will be on the left side of the road.

- Isaacs Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the southwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this inactive cemetery from Cameron, take US Hwy 77 and State Hwy 36 south about 3-miles and at the “Y” continue of US Hwy 77 to Minerva. The cemetery is 2-miles northwest of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church on the Coffield Ranch. The cemetery is extremely difficult to find. There is no fence around the cemetery and cattle freely roam the area and have damage a considerable number of gravemarkers.

- Jeter Family Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the southeast quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active cemetery from Cameron, take State Hwy 36 and US Hwy 77 south 12-miles to Milano and at US Hwy 79 take a left and then a right to continue on State Hwy 36. Go to CR 344 L and an old 2-story rock building is on the left, make the left turn immediately after the building. The cemetery is on private land and you will need permission to enter from the family.

- Jewish Cemetery - List of Burials & History of Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the southwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this inactive cemetery located within the City of Rockdale, take South Main St. (also FM 908) south of the old Railroad Station and cross the railroad tracks. At this point, South Main St. becomes Oak St. About 100-yards you will see a cemetery to the left, this is the Old Rockdale City Cemetery and the Jewish Cemetery is located behind it enclosed in a cyclone fence. Continue to White St. and you will take a left.

- Keen Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the southwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active cemetery from Cameron, take State Hwy 36 and US Hwy 77 and at the “Y” continue 13-miles to Rockdale. Continue on US Hwy 77 about 7.5 miles to CR 313 and turn right. About three-quarters of a mile, two brick homes will appear on the right and after the second home, turn right at an aluminum gate. The cemetery is about one-quarter mile down the grassy land and will be on the right on a slight hill with big trees. The cemetery is surrounded by a cyclone fence.

- Lamkin's Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the northeast quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this abandoned and extremely neglected cemetery from Cameron, take Fannin St. to 22nd St. and turn right and continue when the street becomes CR 227, pass the new junior high and elementary schools, pass the country club on the right and cross the bridge of Little River and veer to the left. About one-quarter mile the gravel road turns to the right and there is a gate to the left. At the gate, take a left and go about 200-yards. The cemetery is surrounded by a cyclone fence, which is barely visible due to dense undergrowth. This is one of the oldest cemeteries in Milam Co. and regretfully it is almost impossible to enter due to the condition of the grounds.

- Laughlin Cemetery - List of Burials - This cemetery is located in the northwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this abandoned and inactive cemetery from Davilla, take FM 487 about one-quarter mile. The cemetery is very difficult to locate and is on private property. You must obtain permission to enter and a key to the gate from Mike Adams of Houston. The cemetery is neglected and in very bad condition with fallen trees and briars. This is one of the oldest cemeteries in Milam Co. and regretfully it is almost impossible to enter due to the condition of the grounds.

- Lawson Cemetery a/k/a Six Mile Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the southeast quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active black cemetery from Cameron, take State Hwy 36 about 12-miles south to Milano. Then take US Hwy 79 left and go 11-miles to Gause. At CR 358 turn right and go about 5-miles. The cemetery will be on the left side of the road.

- Ledbetter Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the southeast quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this inactive and abandoned cemetery from Cameron, take State Hwy 36 south about 3-miles, pass the Little River Bridge and at FM 2905 take a left (this is the Old Hanover Road). Just before the Cannon Snap Creek Bridge, burn left onto a gravel road and go about 1.5-miles and turn right. After a short distance the cemetery will come into view. The original native-stone fence around the cemetery is partially visible in the winter when the undergrowth is not in foliage.

- Lee Garden Springs Cemetery (exact site unknown - lost cemetery) - This cemetery no longer exists and was located in the southeast quadrant of Milam Co. To get to the area of this cemetery from Cameron, take State Hwy 36 about 12-miles to Milano. At the intersection of Hwy 36 and US Hwy 79 take a left and then a right to continue on State Hwy 36. Go about 2.4-miles to CR 340 A and turn right onto a gravel road. Go about seven-tenths mile to the end of the road where there will be two gates. The gate on the right is locked and you will need permission to the Clark Family in Caldwell to enter. The springs are about 1-mile further from the gate. There is no evidence there were ever any graves here. Lee Keen and Mayson Williams on Milano recalled seeing the fence of native-rocks that surrounded several marked graves when they were young and hunted in the area. Mayson gave an excellent description of the site: huge oak trees and hill are still there where in the early days an old stagecoach route passed through to Houston via Caldwell. Cedar Creek and Buer Crrek meet near here. The stagecoach used to stop at the springs and for accommodations. Lee recalled there was a rock fence in some trees and just below the old rock fence were springs and a marshy area.

- Lewis Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the northwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this inactive cemetery from Cameron, take State Hwy 36 to FM 1915 and turn left and go about 2.5-miles to where the road makes an “S” turn. Continue south about 1-mile until a gateway between two telephone poles comes into view on the right. There is no sign on the gate, but several large oak trees will come into view on the right side of the road and a couple of tall gravemarkers can be seen. A new black pipe fence surrounds the cemetery.

- Liberty Cemetery - Photographs - This cemetery is located in the southeast quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active cemetery from Cameron, take State Hwy 36 to just past the Little River Bridge and turn left onto FM 2095. At the Hanover community turn right onto CR 3242 and go about 2-miles. The sign for the cemetery is on the right. The cemetery is about 5-miles from Milano.

- Liberty Hill Cemetery - Springfield Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the southwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active black cemetery from Thorndale, take FM 485 north towards San Gabriel. Go about 5-miles and turn right onto FM 908 and go 3-miles to CR 428 and turn right. At CR 432 turn left and in a short distance the cemetery will appear on the right side of the road. A county map shows there are two cemeteries here, Liberty Hill and Springfield Cemetery. However, the Springfield Church burned and no resident knows about a Springfield Cemetery. No death records give Springfield as a burial location. The Phillips-Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale has no record for any burials at Springfield Cemetery.

- Lilac Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the northwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active cemetery from Cameron, take State Hwy 36 about 6-miles to Pettibone and turn left onto FM 486. Go about 8-miles to FM 487 and turn right. Pass the Sharp Cemetery on the right and continue about 4-miles to the intersection for CR 3061. The cemetery is on the left surrounded by a cyclone fence.

- Little River Cemetery - Photographs - Inventory Part I - Inventory Part II - This cemetery is located in the northeast quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active cemetery from Cameron, take US Hwy 79 north about 5-miles to FM 485 and turn right. Go about 6-miles to FM 979 and turn left. Go about 3.5-miles and the church and cemetery will appear on the right side of the road. This church is one of the oldest in Texas and was established in 1849 and the earliest gravemarker is 1853.

- Little Rocky Cemetery -
- This cemetery is located in the southeast quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this abandoned and inactive cemetery from Cameron, take State Hwy 36 to just past the Little River Bridge and turn left onto FM 2095. Go about 2.5-miles to CR 244 and turn left onto a gravel road. Go about 1-mile and turn right and then one-quarter and turn left for about 200-yards. The cemetery is on the left about 100-yards off the road. There is no fence and a few gravemarkers are among the trees. Be vigilant because the grass is high and it is very difficult to locate the old gravemarkers.

- Locklin Cemetery - This cemetery is located in the southwest quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active cemetery from Thorndale, take US Hwy 79 and travel north on FM 486 about 4-miles and make a sharp right turn at San Gabriel, and shortly turn left. The cemetery is about 1-mile further on the left side of the road and one-quarter mile up a hill on a gravel road.

- Long Family Cemetery a/k/a Two Mile Cemetery - List of Burials - This cemetery is located in the southeast quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this active black cemetery fro Gause, take US Hwy 79 east to CR 355 L and turn left. Pass the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and round a curve. The cemetery is on the left side of the road, surrounded by a cyclone fence, and among some pretty trees. In 1999, the cemetery was not well cared for and it was difficult to locate the gravemarkers.

- G. A. Love Cemetery -
This cemetery is located in the northeast quadrant of Milam Co. To get to this abandonded cemetery from Cameron, take US Hwy 77 north about 5-miles to FM 485 and turn right. Go about 6-miles to FM 979 and turn left and continue about 5-miles to the Jones Prairie community. The grave is located on land owned by the Wolf Family and permission is required to enter this private property. It is very difficult to read the gravemarkers. There is an iron fence and a hackberry tree to mark the area and a pipeline goes through the middle of the cemetery.
