Meetings: 7:30 p.m., 1st Thursday of each month at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library
At our August meeting our speaker was Velmalene von Gonton Williams who recounted her adventures in genealogy which led to the publication of A von Gonten Family History: 1655-1994. The book is now in the library as a gift from Mary Joy Timmerman Graham. The book is very impressive in terms of quality and number of photographs and documents to support the research. Mrs. Williams’ adventures in adventures in assembling the book sounded almost like a fairy tale to someone (me) who has not had such good fortune in tracking ancestors. I am sure many Milam County residents will find the research helpful, interesting and impressive.
