Tuesday 3-Walked home from the party. Went back to COTTENS' found the horses. Weather clear and pleasant. Report that TALLEY was killed. No news. Health improving. Path up to the mill today at WATSONS.
Wednesday 4-I went to WATSON MILL today, thence to COTTENS. No news. Weather clear and warm. COTTON agreed to silver my saddle then I went home.

Sunday 15-I and BERRY went to FROST BRANCH to hear PARSON BOYD. Saw MERCER but few out. SHERMAN captured SAVANNAH, GEORGIA. On the twenty-first December 1864. Weather cloudy and cold. Some startling rumors in the past week.

Saturday 20-Still in CAMP HAMPTON. No news. The infantry disbanded. S. P. RITCHEY, G.W. PRICE, and M. T. LOGAN gone home on seven days pass.
Sunday 21-GENERAL HARDEMAN came to camp in a carriage this morning and made a short speech. The GENERAL is very sick. He sat on a chair and made a few remarks to his old regiment with tears in his eyes. Some men and officers shed tears. The GENERAL surveyed the boys three times before he could speak.
Monday 22-The FOURTH TEXAS CAVALRY REGIMENT, was disbanded this morning. COMPANYE. received twenty-three mules, one wagon and six mules and left camp for home at ten o'clock this morning. Thence to HAYS fourteen miles, to home nine miles. The change wasn't expected. I and JOHN arrived home safe and sound at 6 o'clock p.m. Found all well. Weather hot and dry.
