Milam County, Texas

In this sketch on "MILANO" I have tried with the assistance of friends to list as many of the Old Settlers and their children at Milano and surrounding communities that could be remembered.

Milano was first located one mile west of the present town site.

We have listed a few places of business there and have tried to bring it up to the present time.

I am indebted to my many friends who have helped me in this work and I want to thank every one. I hesitate to mention them by name lest I omit one. So I will say Thanks to All.

Basil McGregor

NOTE: Basil McGregor was born on 12 August 1893, Milano, Milam Co., TX and died on 19 April 1971, Milam Co., TX.

He was the son of William Henry McGregor and his second wife, Mary Jane Talley McGregor. Basil married Amy ___________ (b. 17 Dec 1895 - d. 12 Sept 1976). They had one son, James Martin McGregor and are both buried in the Milano City Cemetery.
