BRABANDT, Laura Jenke of Houston & Giddings. Age 76. Died 10/17/1985 (Thursday) enroute from the Giddings hospital to a hospital in Austin. Services held (Sat.) 10/19/85 in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings. Burial in Giddings City Cemetery. BORN 10/16/1909, she formerly lived for many years in Houston, but had been a resident of a nursing home in Giddings for several months. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman & Lina Jenke, 4 brothers and 1 sister. She was the sister of the late Martin Jenke of Thorndale. SURVIVORS: 3 brothers, Willie Jenke of Fredericksburg, Ernest and Herbert Jenke of Giddings; adopted son, Wilbert Brabandt of Houston and 2 grandsons of Houston. SS Death Benefit on #460-84-1088.

BRACKENRIDGE, Mrs. Eloise (John A.) of Thorndale & 1306 Cecilia, Taylor. Age 63. Died 7/1971. Services held (Sat.) from Condra Memorial Chapel. Burial in Taylor City Cemetery. Rev. Mack Morris officiated. She was the former Eloise Wilson, BORN 11/25/1908 and daughter of the late M/M. Wilford Wilson of Thorndale where she lived for a number of years. She had been a resident of Taylor since 1937. She graduated from San Marcos Academy, attended Southwestern Univ. and Univ. of Texas and Texas Tech Univ. Prior to moving to Taylor she was a teacher in Thrall School District. She was the widow of John A. Brackenridge, a prominent cotton buyer in the Taylor area who died 7/9/1957. Member of Taylor Women's Study Club, Taylor Garden Club and Taylor Country Club. Preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother, Howard Wilson. Burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Rev. A.J. Carver of Baptist Temple in Austin, officiated. BORN 2/17/1896 in Lee County to M/M Antone Brahm. He lived in Rockdale for 54 years and retired in 1959 after 15 years of service from the Missouri Pacific Railroad. He was preceded in death by wife, Minnie M. Brahm, died 3/31/1952, also 3 infants. BRANCH, Mrs. Edna of Lockhart. Age 77. Died 3/1978 (Monday) in Holy Cross Hospital in Austin after a long illness. Funeral and Burial not listed. Lockhart Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. BRANCH, Dr. William E. of Rockdale & Hollywood, CA. Age 80. Died 2/19/1975 in North Hollywood (CA.) hospital. Services were held 2/22/1975 at Valhalla Memorial Park, North Hollywood, CA. He was BORN 3/13/1894 and lived in Rockdale as a youth moving as a young man. He was the founder of the William E. Branch Clinic in Hollywood and numbered among his patients many of the top names in Hollywood. He founded his clinic in 1932 and had been personal physician to such well known personalities as Jean Harlow, Joan Crawford, Harold Lloyd, Lana Turner, Dorothy Lamour, Hedda Hopper, Daryl F. Zanuck, Ann Southern and Zachary Scott. In his youth he was known in Rockdale as Ed Branch. Survivors not listed. SS Death Benefit on #573-46-5246.

BRANDON, Frank of Rockdale. Age 65. Died 11/1972 (Sat.) at Richards Hospital at 4 p.m. He suffered a heart attack at his home only a few days earlier. Services held (Monday) at Phillips & Luckey Chapel, Rockdale. Burial in IOOF Cemetery. Rev. Stewart Bell, pastor of St.John's United Methodist Church, officiated. He was a retired Rockdale business man, having lived in Rockdale 34 years. He had been manager for the Wm. Cameron & Co., Inc., lumber firm now known at National Building Centers. BORN 3/25/1907 in Waco, the son of the late M/M Arthur Brandon. Married Miss Hazel Pennington in 1930 in Waco. Member of St.John's Methodist Church and a member of the Rockdale Masonic Lodge. BRANDSTETTER, Jimmie F. of Rt. 3, Cameron. Age 65. Died 7/25/1973 (Wed.) in the Cameron hospital. Services held (Friday) at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home. Burial in Sharp Cemetery. Rev. BRAUN, Lawrence of Burton. Age 64. Died 4/27/1990 at his home in Burton. Services held 4/29/1990 (Sunday) at the Chapel of Foehner Funeral Home. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery in Burton. He was BORN 11/15/1925 in Burton to M/M John & Dora Bethke Braun. He was a farmer, veteran of WW-2, having served in the U.S. Army. Preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother. BREWSTER, Don W. of Fresno, CA. & Thorndale. Age 70. Died 8/17/1976 (Tuesday) in Fresno, CA. while visiting friends. Services held (Friday) in Condra Memorial Chapel, Taylor. Burial in the Davis plot in IOOF Cemetery, Georgetown. Rev. Roland Hodge officiated. Sanchez Hall of Fresno, CA. and Condra Funeral Home, Taylor, in charge of arrangements. He was BORN 3/27/1906 in Fresno, CA. and had lived there for 68 years before moving to Thorndale a year ago, following the death of his wife, Louise Davis Brewster on 7/10/1975. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. He had worked for Morrison-Knudsen many years; also Utah Mining Co. and with other big construction companies which had taken him to all parts of the U.S., Greenland, Hawaii and Peru with Marconi Mining Co. for 8 years. Because of ill health he took an early retirement. SURVIVORS: Mother-in-law, Mrs. Grace Davis Berry, 2 nieces and 4 nephews. SS Death Benefit on #553-01-5285. BRICKER, James V. of McDade. Age 87. Died 9/10/1989 (Sunday) in Richards Memorial Hospital, where he was hospitalized since 7/25. Services held 9/13 (Wed.) in the Phillips & Luckey Chapel. Burial in Lexington Cemetery. Bishop O.D. Graham and Elder Eddie Owens of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints officiated at the funeral home and Rev. Geary McManus of Knobbs Springs Baptist Church officiated at the cemetery. Phillips & Luckey, Rockdale, in charge of arrangements. He moved to McDade in 1958 from the Del Rio area. He was BORN 7/25/1902 in Carta Valley to M/M. John Daniel & Issie Leona Rowley Bricker and a retired farmer. Married Martha Annie Deison on 7/29/1928 in Burnet. Preceded in death by 2 brothers and 4 sisters. SURVIVORS: Wife, Martha of McDade; son, Joe D. BRINKLEY, Charles Jesse of Thorndale & Austin. Age 77. Died (?). Services held Sunday from Wilke-Clay Funeral Home in Austin. Rev. A.D. Eberhart, pastor of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in charge of the service. Mr. Brinkley was a retired farmer and stockman, moved to Austin from Thorndale in 1927 to make his home. SURVIVORS: 7 daughters, 3 sons, 7 sisters, 3 brothers, 26 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

BRINKMEYER, Gay of Taylor. Age 19. Died ?/1983 in a tragic car collision Saturday night a few miles from Taylor. Donna Kay Hobbs and Cheryl Wade were also victims. Gay and Cheryl were seniors in Taylor High School. Donna Kay and Cheryl were cousins and great nieces of M/M O.B. Chambers. Services held Monday afternoon in Taylor at St.Paul Lutheran Church for the 3 victims.

BRINKMEYER, Mrs. Ruth (Albert) of Thrall. Age 56. Died 5/5/1990 (Sat.) at her home. Prayer service held Monday at Condra Funeral Home. Services held (Tuesday) at St.John Lutheran Church in Thrall. Burial in Taylor City Cemetery. Rev. Robert Sauer officiated. She was BORN 2/13/1934, daughter of Sylvester & Betty Michna Kuban. Lived in Taylor area all her life and a member of above church. She was employed by Taylor Bedding Mfg. Co. for 35 years. Member of Sons of Herman Lodge and SPJST Lodge 29. Preceded in death by her parents, William Carr Jenkins and Exie Texas Jenkins, and a brother, Aldon Jenkins. She was a member of Murray Street Church of Christ. She enjoyed yard work and gardening. He was a retired farmer and was a resident of Rockdale for past 10 years. Preceded in death by a son, Floyd Brockenbush in 1967. Member of Peace Lutheran Church. BORN 3/13/1901 in Rockdale to M/M Sam & Elizabeth McVoy Yoakum. Before retiring she had been employed at the Dairy Queen. Preceded in death by her first husband, Byrd M. Grace in 1929; a son, Tommy Sanderson on 6/23/1963; 2 brothers and 3 sisters. At the time of her death, she was one of the oldest members of Rockdale First Baptist Church. SURVIVORS: Son, John Grace of Rockdale; daughter, Byrd Page of Nederland; brother, Wilson Yoakum of Franklin; sister, Lillian Jackson of Rockdale; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. BROOKS, David V. of Rockwall. Age 57. Died 2/8/1989 in Lake Pointe Medical Center, Rowlett. Services held 2/11 in Lyons Funeral Chapel. Burial in Rockwall Memorial Cemetery. Dr. Robert Reeves officiated. He was BORN 12/14/1931 in Rockwall Co. to M/M. Albert Carl (Beulah Belle Vinson) Brooks. He was a farmer/rancher with his father and mother-in-law, Henry and Zula Zollner. He was a Rockwall County Commissioner for 24 years, first winning election in 1964 and winning the Democratic Primary in every election from 1964-1988. He was narrowly defeated by Republican Buford Waldrop in 1988. He helped run the "Hobo Ranch" which was started by the Zollner family. The ranch helped unemployed men, offering meals and lodging and providing jobs. Brooks often was the ranch's cook. Served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. BROWER, Cherell of Houston. Age 6. Died 1979 (Sat. 1:45 a.m.) suffocating in a mobile home fire. Unidentified motorists were credited with saving the lives of 7 other family members when they were passing by on US 79 and saw the fire. Rodney Branch who lived in the mobile home with his 3 sisters, Kenya Branch, Marsha Bell and Jackie Bell, and 2 nieces, Elaine Debose and Iris Brower and nephew Bobby Debose, said Cherell and her sister, Iris Brower of Houston, were visiting the family for the holidays. The child was buried (Sunday) in the New Oak Lawn Cemetery.
