Later he worked for 10 years for the postal service in Orlando, retiring because of health. Benjamin Davis. Moved at an early age to San Gabriel Comm. Married Miss Anna Lou Griffith in 1909, she preceded him in death in 1919. In 1933 he became affiliated with the State Sanatorium at Carlsbad, Tx., where he was operator of the power plant until his retirement in 1956. Member of San Gabriel Christian Church for many years. He was a cotton ginner and at one time operated a local cotton compress for F.E. Stiles. After retirement M/M. Davis lived at Florence for many years prior to moving to Austin to make their home.
