He was a retired farmer and rancher. Preceded in death by wife in 1974, also an infant son. He was a member of above church and the last of 16 children of the Thomas & Marie Eiland family of Gay Hill. ELAM, Mrs. Louella of Milano. Age 67. Died 10/23/1952 (Thursday) at the home of her sister in Milano. Funeral/Burial info not listed. She was the daughter of the late Ophelia Evard and James Benjamin Newton. Her mother's family was among the earliest settlers in this section of Texas. She lived in Milano most of her life with the exception of a few years in Palestine, Waco and Bartlett. She was postmistress at Milano for a number of years. Matron of an orphan home in Waco for several years. SURVIVORS: Daughter, Mrs. Joe Weldon Bailey of Sulphur Springs; 2 brothers, Walter and Lester Newton; 6 sisters, Mrs. Jim Baggett, Mrs. M. ELLIOTT, W. B. (Mr. Birt) of Thorndale. Age 88. Died abt 7/10/1969. Services held (Thursday) from the Condra Memorial Chapel in Taylor. Burial in family plot in the Thorndale City Cemetery. Revs. William Holms of University Methodist Church in Austin and Stan Brown of Trinity United Methodist Church, Thorndale, officiated. Condra Funeral Directors of Taylor in charge of arrangements. He was BORN 9/15/1880 in the Conoley Comm. to J.C. and Sarah Mills Elliott. Married Miss Iris Amason on 7/24/1907. Member of the Methodist church, lifelong member of Thorndale Masonic Lodge No. 978. Interested in the civic affairs of his town and served as the first mayor. Served for a number of years on Thorndale Board of Trustees. He was owner/operator of Thorndale Independent Lumber Co. for more than 40 years and after disposing of his business, he was a full time insurance businessman. He had been living at the Sweet Briar Rest Home, Taylor for the past 9 months. "He never lost his quick wit, his courtly manners, and could recount the history of Thorndale with sagacity". Preceded in death by his wife in 1963 and a son, Willis B. Elliott in 1961. SURVIVORS: 2 daughters, Mrs. Frank (Margaret) Jackson of Austin, Mrs. B.C. ELLISON, Mrs. Luvenia Crow (Will) of Thorndale. Age 80. Died 4/1958 (Tuesday) at the home of her niece, Mrs. L.C. Fitch in Troup. Services held (Wed.) from Thorndale Baptist Church. Burial in Taylor City Cemetery. Rev. Clyde Majors, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Hutto, officiated. Condra Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. She was BORN 12/12/1877 in the Ellison Ridge Comm., north of Thorndale, the daughter of James & Sara Crow, pioneer residents of Milam Co. United with the Baptist Church at an early age and lived the last 15 years in Thorndale. She was a devout christian whose faith waxed bright until the end of her days. SURVIVORS: Niece, Mrs. L.C. Fitch of Troup, Lurlin Moss of Thorndale, Reid Moss of Miami, AZ. and a number of other nieces and nephews.

ELSENBERG, William of Milano. Age 75. Died 5/1973 (Tuesday) after he was involved in a 2-car traffic accident at Waco. Services held (Thursday) at First Baptist Church in Milano. Burial in the Milano Cemetery. He was a passenger in an auto driven by his daughter, Mrs. Theo (Trudy) Telg, also of Milano. They were in collison with another auto driven by Mrs. Peggy Harme Stagel of Chilton. He was BORN 10/13/1897. SURVIVORS: Daughter, Mrs. Telg. (Article not complete). Those attending the funeral services were M/M Jimmy Melton, (Mrs. Melton was Mrs English's granddaughter), and their children, Jim, Glen, Joey and Brett.
