BORN 1/6/1847, Mrs. Huerta would have celebrated her 119th birthday on January 6th. She was born in Mexico and had lived in Cameron for 52 years. "Last year, on the occasion of her 118th birthday, Mrs. Huerta told the Cameron Herald the inheritance of long life came from a full-blooded Indian Father and a Spanish Mother. She was small and frail, but was up for her afternoon birthday party and seemed pleased by the congratulations. She saw, heard and spoke well on her 118th birthday and her warm sense of humor showed an understanding and patience born of more that a century of life."
