Eugene Lane of Rockdale and had made his home in the Rockdale/Thorndale area. He was a freshman attending the Rockdale High School, member of Rockdale Roping & Cutting Club and of the FFA. She was a retired registered nurse, having received her training in Taylor and did post graduate study in New Orleans and New York City. She was co-supervisor of the surgical unit in Wichita Falls Hospital in 1926, worked in Houston Children's Hospital, Johns Hospital and Clinic, and Brackenridge Hospital in Austin for several years before her retirement. Charter member of First Baptist Church of Thrall. Husband, Thomas Ralph Lane, preceded her in death in 1960, also her first husband, Thomas R. She was BORN in Mexia on 11/27/1898 and would have been 92 on 11/27. She was formerly a resident of Rockdale Nursing Home. Her husband, Louie Lashley, preceded her in death 5 years ago. SURVIVORS: 3 children, Herbert Hensley of Rockdale, Mildred Soileau of Bridge City and Mabel Harris of Mexia; brother, Tommy Burnett of Mexia; a number of grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
