She had lived in the community during her entire lifetime. Taught school in area schools for 55 years prior to retirement. Member of Thrall United Methodist Church, usually attending the Lawrence Chapel Methodist Church. Married Milton Worth Modesett on 7/11/1923, he preceded her in death 11/21/1958. MOEHNKE, Bruce Wayne formerly of Taylor. Age 21. Died 1/10/1990 as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident which occurred in Washington state, where he was stationed in the Navy. MOEHNKE, Miss Gertrude of 2203 Perry Lane, Austin. Age 67. Died 2/1974 (Monday) at her residence. (No funeral/burial info listed). She was BORN 10/13/1906 and was a practical nurse and had lived in Austin 27 years. She was the last surviving sister of the late Mrs. Augusta Fuessel, who was buried only last Sunday. Miss Moehnke was the aunt of Erwin Fuessel, Mrs. Pat McDaniel and W.R. Kirsch. SS Death Benefit on #461-22-7885.

MOERBE, Dean Paul of 708 Jetta Court St., Austin. Age 11 months. Died ?/1969 (Wed.) in an Austin hospital from injuries received in an automobile accident which occurred 3 miles west of Pflugerville on FM Road 825. The accident also claimed the life of a Pflugerville woman, and gravely injured the child's mother and 2 of his 3 brothers. Services held (Friday) at Condra Funeral Chapel in Taylor. MOERBE, Rev. E. F. of Hamilton. Age (?). Died ?/1951 (Tuesday) at Hamilton. Services held (Thursday) in Hamilton. Retiring 12 years ago, after being a pastor for 50 years, he spent most of his time in Aleman, later moving to Hamilton. He was a leading member of the Lutheran Church of Texas and served many years on the Mission Board. MOERBE, Mrs. Ella D. of McAllen. Age 64. Died 10/14/1982 in M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston after a lengthy illness. Services held 10/16 (Sat.) in St.Paul Lutheran Church in McAllen. Burial in Green Memorial Cemetery in Wilson. Rev. Otto Kretzman, officiated. He was BORN 11/16/1931 in Thorndale. Moved to Wilson in 9/1961 where he was a farmer until he retired in 1977. Moved to Lubbock in 1/1979. Member of St.Paul Lutheran Church in Wilson. SURVIVORS: Wife, Gladys Hengst Moerbe of Lubbock; parents, M/M. MOERBE, Mrs. Martha of Thorndale. Age 83. Died 2/1976 (Sunday) when she was found dead in her bed at home by her daughter, Mrs. Minnie Becker, who had been caring for her at night since she returned from the hospital. Services held (Tuesday) at St.Paul Lutheran Church. Burial in church cemetery nearby. Rev. Vernon M. Appel, pastor of church, officiated. Condra Funeral Home, Taylor in charge of arrangements. She was BORN 4/1/1892 in Williamson Co., and had lived in the area all her life. Married Emil J. Moerbe on 1/19/1909 and lived to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary 2 months before he passed away. She and her late husband, Emil J. Moerbe, a longtime mayor of Thorndale were associated with every aspect of community progress and growth. She was the last surviving member of the family of M/M. Peter Simank, pioneers of this area. Life member of above Lutheran church and member of the LWML of above church. Member of TVFD Auxiliary. Their youngest son, Edward, was a WW-2 casualty, listed as missing in action. SURVIVORS: 2 daughters, Mrs. Minnie Becker and Mrs. Gilbert (Irmgard) Becker, both of Thorndale; son, Alwin Moerbe of McAllen; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Coburn officiated. Condra Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. He was BORN 6/11/1909 and owned a drug store in Thorndale 8 yrs., moved to Taylor and was associated with J.J. Thames Drug Store before he bought Melasky Drug Store, which he operated for 11 yrs. and then became a partner in Luhn and Johns Drug Store. Active church member in above church.
