MOORE, Mrs. Annie B. of Dallas. Age 50. Died ?/1972 when she passed away in her sleep (Tuesday) after completing her shift of duty as a nurse at Dallas hospital, where she had worked for many years. Services held (Sat.) in St.James Methodist Church in Teague. Burial in church cemetery. She was BORN c.1921-22 and reared in Thorndale, the daughter of Mrs. Eugenia Moore and the late Ephraim Moore. Preceded in death by father and a brother, Morris. SURVIVORS: Mother of Teague; sister, Maisie of California; son, E.V. Moore of Teague; grandchild, Etha Vohn Moore.

MOORE, Douglas of Cameron. Age 78. Died 8/14/1989 (Monday) in St. Edwards Hospital in Cameron. Graveside services held 8/16 (Wed.) in Cameron Rest Cemetery. Rev. F.L. Hayden officiated. Phillips & Luckey, Rockdale, in charge of arrangements. He was BORN 6/2/1911 in Rogers to George and Josephine (Wesley) Moore and had lived in Cameron most of his life. Worked as a laborer for Texaco for 20 years. Married Eula Neal on 5/1/1928 in Cameron. Preceded in death by his wife, Eula Moore and a son, Louis Moore. SURVIVORS: Son, Earnest Moore of Harker Heights; daughter-in-law, Harlean Moore of Killeen; 2 brothers, Robert Moore of California and L.B. MOORE, Elbert I. of Thorndale. Age 63-64. Died ?/1959 (Tuesday) in a Temple hospital. Services held (Thursday) at Condra Memorial Chapel in Taylor. Burial in Thorndale City Cemetery. Brother Bill Coffman officiated. He was BORN 8/23/1895 in Thorndale, the son of Mrs. Ella Campbell Moore and the late Henry Moore. Member of Church of Christ, veteran of WW-1 and salesman for heavy equipment companies over the state. SURVIVORS: Mother, Mrs. Ella C. Moore of Taylor, formerly of Thorndale; 2 sisters, Mrs. Robert H. Rainwater of Taylor and Mrs Harry W. Elliott of Natchez, Miss. and brother, Terrell Moore of Gatesville.

MOORE, Mrs. Elfreda (S.D.) of Rockdale. Age 64. Died ?/1972 (Thursday) in a Temple hospital after an extended illness. Services held (Sat.) Phillips & Luckey Chapel in Rockdale. Burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Stewart Bell, pastor of St.John's United Methodist Church, officiated. She was BORN 11/23/1907 and spent her entire life in Rockdale, she was the daughter of the late M/M. Charles E. Scheihing. Married S.D. (Jack) Moore on 8/14/1927 in Rockdale. SURVIVORS: Husband, Jack Moore of Rockdale; daughter, Mrs. Nina Lou Neatherlin of Waller, sister, Mrs. Flora Harriss of Rockdale; 2 grandchildren, Jim Ray and Kenneth Neatherlin of Waller.

MOORE, Mrs. Ella C. (Henry Hamblin) of Thorndale. Age 98. Died 6/1965. Services held from Condra Memorial Chapel in Taylor. Burial in Thorndale City Cemetery. Brother Gene Johnston, pastor of the Church of Christ, officiated. Condra Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. She was BORN 8/7/1866 in San Gabriel, daughter of Perry & Catherine Grantham Campbell. Member of Church of Christ, a devout Christian, devoted wife and mother. A lifelong resident of Milam Co. Preceded in death by her husband, H.H. Moore, on 5/24/1942 and a son, Elbert I. Moore in 1959. SURVIVORS: 2 daughters, Mrs. R.H. Rainwater of Taylor and Mrs. Harry W. Elliott, Sr. of Natchez, MS.; son, H.Terrell Moore of Gatesville; twin sister, Mrs. Oliver Terrell Baird of Brady; 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren.

MOORE, Eugenia (Ephraim) of Teague. Age 93. Died 1/10/1986 (Friday) at her home in Teague. Services held (Monday) 1/13 in Dorsey-Keatts Funeral home in Mexia. Burial in Teague. She was BORN 11/15/1892 and lived in Thorndale until her husband, Ephraim Moore, died. Taking her 3 small children and moved to Teague where she had relatives. She lived in her own home next door to her daughter. Her last visit to Thorndale was a few summers ago and about half a dozen friends hurriedly got together, went up to the First Baptist Church, where E.V., a talented organist, presented an impromptu concert of classical music and hymns. MOORE, Miss Leanora of San Gabriel. Age 92. Died ?/1968. Services held (Sunday) from San Gabriel Baptist Church. Burial in family plot in the Locklin Cemetery. Rev. Melvin Zornes, pastor of the church, officiated. Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home, Rockdale, in charge of arrangements. She was BORN 8/13/1875 at San Gabriel, the daughter of John & Elizabeth Robertson Moore and was a lifelong resident of this area until she went to Austin 14 yrs. ago to reside in the Turner Retirement Home. Lifelong member of the Baptist Church. Resided with sister, Emma, until her death in 1926; moved to Thorndale where she lived until 1945; lived with her niece, Mrs. Bill Clark, for 8 yrs. prior to going to Austin. She and her sister were quite accomplished musicians and were active in the church, community and also taught music classes for many years. Preceded in death by her parents, sister, and a brother, Rev. John Moore in 1941. SURVIVORS: 4 nieces, Mrs. Bill (Hazel) Clark of San Gabriel, Mrs. Gladys Stigall of Austin, Mrs. Noel (Clara) Barron, Houston and Mrs. Tom (Pauline) Wilson, of New Gulf; 6 great-nieces and nephews; 12 great-great-nieces and nephews.

MOORE, Mrs. Lela (William) of Bryan. Age 85. Died 1/1983 (Monday) in a Bryan hospital. Services held 2/2 (Wed.) at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bryan. Burial in Minerva Cemetery near Rockdale. She was the former Lucille Stiles, daughter of the late M/M. Wilburn Stiles and was BORN c.1897 in Thorndale. She had been a resident of San Antonio for more than 35 years. Member of the Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. SURVIVORS: Husband, Clay Moore of San Antonio; son, by a former marriage, Jack Logan of Dallas; 3 brothers, Elva Stiles of La Porte, Grady Stiles of Corpus Christi, and Graham Stiles of San Antonio; and a sister, Mrs. Hilary H. MOORE, Margaret K. (Charles) of Rockdale. Age 72. Died 6/1985 (Friday) at Richards Memorial hospital. Services held (Sunday) in Phillips & Luckey Chapel. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, Rockdale. Rev. Duane Nyce of First Presbyterian Church officiated. She was BORN 6/12/1913 in Ft. Worth to M/M. Ernest & Mary Graham Keedy. Married Charles R. Moore in 1949 in Montclair, NJ. A Rockdale resident for the past 35 years, moving to Rockdale from Athens, TX. She was a retired secretary/receptionist and switchboard operator for Industrial Generating Co. (Texas Utilities-Sandow), having worked in that capacity for 30 years. Member of Rockdale Order of Eastern Star, Rockdale Art Club and First Presbyterian Church. He was BORN 10/12/1896 and reared in Thorndale, the son of M/M. John N. & May Hill Moore. He resided in San Antonio for 34 years. Charter member of the Univ. Park Baptist Church in the Alamo City. He was BORN about 1887 in Milam Co., to the late Henry H. and Ella Moore. Spent his boyhood years in Thorndale community. Wife preceded him in death several years ago. MOORMAN, Mrs. Laura B. (Bob) of Rockdale. Age 85. Died 6/1975 (Sat.) (in paper 6/26/75) in Manor Oaks Nursing Home after being in failing health for several weeks. Services held (Sunday) in Phillips & Luckey Chapel. Burial in the Chriesman Cemetery near Caldwell. Rev. D.D. Simpson of First Baptist Church officiated. She was BORN 8/9/1889 in Madison Co., AL., to M/M. John Howard. Married R.M. (Bob) Moorman on 12/8/1906 in Cameron. Resided in Rockdale for 14 years. In 1932 the Moorman family moved to Burleson Co. where Mrs. Moorman resided until her husband's failing health forced them to leave the farm. They returned to Rockdale to live near their only son, J.M. Moorman and his family. Preceded in death by husband in 1961, a daughter, Mrs. Annie Sutton of Uvalde. She also raised 2 step-children and helped rear several grandchildren. Became a Christian at age of 12 and was a member of Yarrelton Baptist Church. SURVIVORS: Son, J.M. Preceded in death by husband, Zeff Morgan, Sr. on 10/8/1968; 2 sons, Charles Ray Morgan on 3/25/1953 and an infant son; sister, Ophelia Morgan; parents, John and Civility Stemmons. MORGAN, James Richard of Nacogdoches. Age 69. Died 8/12/1949 (Friday) at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C.B. Barclay, 1604 Cooper St., Commerce, TX. Services held (Sat.) in Commerce at Sheeley's Chapel. Burial held (Sunday) at Salty Cemetery. Bro. Palmer, pastor of Pleasant Retreat Methodist Church, read a short scripture, led in prayer, gave the obituary and commented briefly on the life of the deceased. A Masonic Funeral was conducted for Mr. Morgan under the auspicies of the Rockdale Masonic Lodge. He was BORN 10/10/1879 in Milam Co., TX, the son of James Buchanan Morgan and Elizabeth Davenport Morgan. Married Miss Mattie Novella Dickey on 10/9/1898 at Salty. He owned a grocery and general notions store in Nacogdoches where he lived since 1923. Had been at daughters while taking medical treatment in Dallas. Life member of the Masonic Lodge AF&AM No. 294 at Kirbyville, TX. Member of First Baptist Church. SURVIVORS: Wife of Nacogodoches; 3 daughters, Mrs. C.B. Barclay of Commerce; Mrs. G.L. Burial in Milano Cemetery. Rev. Jim Barnett officiated. She was BORN 4/2/1899 near Milano, the daughter of the late M/M. William J. Springer and lived most her life in Milano. Married John L. MORGAN, Mrs. Samuel R. of Kerrville. Age 84. Died 1/1970 (Sat.) (in paper 1/29/70) in a Kerrville nursing home following a lengthy illness. He was baptized at age of 6 years in the First Baptist Church and was active in the church, community and school events. Member of FFA Chapter and J.V. football team. He was a Junior in Somerville High School. Played guitar and loved all kinds of music. Preceded in death by grandparents, M/M. J.B. Morton and M/M. Sam McManus.
