Burial held (Friday) in Ozark Memorial Park in Branson, MO. She was BORN 1/29/1900 in Anthony, KA., daughter of Norman Hugh & Claria Effie Hicks Beebe. She lived for many years in Wichita, KA., and Branson, MO. before moving to Milano 2 yrs. ago. She was self-employed as a seamstress and florist while in Wichita. Couple located in Waco in 1938, moving to San Gabriel in 1945 and later to Thorndale. WW-2 veteran (Air Force) and a Thorndale Postmaster. Active in community organizations and was Commander of the Emil Hengst Post 131 of the American Legion. Member of the Baptist church, a deacon and Sunday school teacher. SURVIVORS: Wife; 2 sons, Fred H. Pearce, Jr. and Richard W. Pearce; daughter, Carolyn Pearce, all of Thorndale; brother George W. Pearce, Ft. Worth.

PEARCE, Howard of Downey, CA. Age (?). Died ?/1975 (Sunday) at his home in Downey. He had a history of heart trouble for several years. Funeral & burial information not listed in article. He was the son of M/M. R.A. Pearce and was BORN and reared in the San Gabriel area. Attended Thorndale public schools. Volunteered for service in the U.S. Navy and chose to reside in California. PECK, Mrs. Grace Stiles of Austin. Age 55. Died 12/1983 (Friday) in Seton's Hospital, Austin, after several months illness, past five of which were spent in ICU. She was BORN 12/16/1927 in Wilson, TX., the youngest daughter of the late E.F. and Mable Conoley Stiles. She was reared in Thorndale, Member of the Methodist Church and was employed in Austin in a state department for past 25 years. Member Masonic Lodge 1125 AF&AM and belonged to many Killeen civic organizations. Preceded in death by parents, M/M. George Peebles, sister, Mrs. G.W. (Allyne) Wolle and a brother, Paul Peebles. PEEPLES, Audrey Clark of Panama City, FL. Age 85. Died 10/21/1984 (Sunday) in a hospital in Panama City. Services held 10/23 (Tuesday) in Panama City. Burial in Birmingham, AL. BORN 5/23/1899, she was the only daughter of the late M/M. Joe Clark of Thorndale. She attended Thorndale schools, graduating in 1916. Husband, Sam Lee Peeples, preceded her in death along with a daughter. Peeples & Son, established by his father. He retired on 1/4/1954, selling the busines to E.C. Westbrook. PELZEL, Walter Richard of Thorndale. Age 39. Died 4/5/1985 (Friday) drowning when the boat he and 4 others were fishing from went 2-1/2 miles down river from FM 1600 Little River bridge. Milam Co. Game Warden, David Greene, stated "the motor ran out of gas and Pelzel stood up in the back of the boat to put gas in the motor when the boat took on water and sunk. Services held (Monday) at Condra Memorial Chapel. Burial in Taylor City Cemetery. Rev. Vernon Appel officiated. He was BORN 11/27/1945 and was associated at the time of his death with Pelzel Auto Body Repairs. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. PEREZ, Frank died at hospital in Post, Tx. Services (Friday) ?/1954. Formerly lived on a farm south of Thorndale, owned by J.B. Ralston for 30 years before going to west Texas to live. Mrs. Fred Gant of Thorndale was notified of the death.

PEREZ, Mateo, Jr. of Cameron. Age 2 months. Died ?/1975 (Friday) in Scott & White Hospital, Temple, from injuries suffered on Thursday when the pickup truck which his father was driving northeast of Cameron, was over-corrected and slammed into a tree. His was the first fatality of 1975 in Milam Co. Mr. Perez was hospitalized with knee and foot injuries. Mrs. Perez, also injured, was in serious condition. SURVIVORS: Parents, M/M. Mateo Perez.

He was BORN 12/23/1927 in Rockdale to M/M. Joe & Beulah Wilkinson Pernitza. He was Pepsi Cola distributor for approx. 25 yrs. Was a U.S. Army veteran and member of the Assembly of God Church. He lived in Vidor for the past 16 years. He had also resided in Houston for a number of years and grew up in Sand Grove Comm. Preceded in death by his mother, Beulah Pernitza on 2/28/1956; a son, Hardin Pernitza in 1970. She was BORN 6/5/1908 Wilma Marantha Blundell in Chadron, NE., the daughter of William Howard and Mina Narcina (Iverson) Blundell. Married Edy Randall on 8/19/1928 in Chadron, NE. One child born to this union. Wilma and Edy divorced in 1933, Wilma and daughter moved to Oakland, CA. where she remained until 1942 when she returned to Chadron, NE. Married Obie Neil Perrine from Joplin, MO. in 1939. He entered the Army Engineers serving in England, Africa, Sicily and Palarmo during WW-2. He was discharged in 1946 and the family returned to Richmond, CA. She was a Poultry Husbandry Technician for the Univ. of California in Berkley. Moving to Univ. of Cal. at Davis in 1965. Retired in 1969. Preceded in death by her parents, William in 5/29/1970; Mina in 5/20/1958 and 1st husband, Edy, 7/15/1953; (all buried in Chadron, NE.) 2nd husband, Obie in 7/17/1964, buried in Golden Gate Cemetery, San Francisco, CA. PERRY, C. T. "Commodore" of Thorndale. Age 96. Died ?/1962-63 (Monday) when he became ill unexpectedly, 3 hrs. later, in a Taylor hospital. Services held (Wed.) at Condra Memorial Chapel, Taylor. Burial in Salty Cemetery. Rev. R.J. Cooper, First Baptist Church, Thorndale, officiated. BORN 7/5/1866 at Lake Charles, LA. He was a farmer, but retired several years ago. Made his home in Thorndale for the past 2 yrs. He lived a colorful life and had the distinction of being the first man to cross the old Brushy Creek bridge, south of town, horseback, back in 1886 after its completion. He could relate the history of Milam County back for 70 yrs. Preceded in death by his wife, 2 sons, and a daughter. Bob Henson officiated. He was BORN 12/17/1904 in Rockdale to M/M. Preston Hubert & Mary Coffield Perry, Sr. Married Helen Noack on 6/29/1960 in Rockdale. He was a retired rancher and lifelong resident of Rockdale and was an active member of the local business community for many years, serving as president of the Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the City Council. Charter member of Rockdale Rotary Club, representative of the Salvation Army for 19 yrs. Belonged to Rockdale Homecoming Asso., Central Texas Junior Angus Asso., Central Texas Farm Bureau, vestry member of St.Thomas Episcopal Church. Lifetime member of VFW, Amer. Legion and FFA Alumini. Original operator of Central Texas Freight Line in Rockdale and served as independent cotton buyer for Milam and surrounding counties. Owned/operated first radio repair shop in Rockdale and was a ham radio operator, call letters being W5NH. He was instrumental in forming the local ham operator's club. An avid deer hunter for 70 yrs. He formed his own dance band, Preston Perrry & Orchestra and entertained audiences throughout Central Texas during the 1930's. He was the godfather to Steven Noack and Daniel Perry. For 6 years before his death he participated in a research project as a volunteer patient with Dr. Per Langsjoen, a Scott & White Hospital cardiologist. The study involved measuring the effects of an enzyme on patients with heart muscle failure due to cardiomyopathy, a disease of the heart muscle.
