Rev. Wilson along with Dr. James David Rutherford of California, discovered oil on the former Lance Johnson farm between Thorndale and San Gabriel "about 2 years ago". He also had a real estate office in Round Rock. Amason home in San Gabriel as a vacation home and the couple spent several weeks each year in the San Gabriel home.
